In our eighth weekly photographic series on the face-lift
of San Antonio that took place ten-years-ago, today we are showing pictures taken
during Easter of the town being cleaned up and getting prepared in time for the
rapidly approaching hectic summer holiday season, which normally starts here at
the beginning of May.
Therefore, the building construction
work had to be temporary suspended and stopped until the end of that summer tourism
season and it was then resumed at the start of the following winter months after
the holidaymakers had left the island and gone home until the following summer.
Next
week we will continue with picture of the gruelling work that then began at the
end of the 1992 summer season as the job started to reclaim the necessary twenty-five
metres from the sea to make way for the new promenade of San Antonio.
